A Changing Future in Big Sky, Montana

In a new article from Explore Big Sky, Dr. Cathy Whitlock, lead author of the 2017 Montana Climate Assessment, discusses some of the projected climate changes for Montana and the Big Sky area specifically. Whitlock also touches on how residents of the Greater Yellowstone region can address the negative impacts of climate change through mitigation and adaptation practices.

From the article: "We need to incorporate the likely consequences of climate change into all our decision-making. I think there are real opportunities for creative thinking, ingenious technologies and new conservation strategies, especially from young people who want to make a difference...I guess I’ve come to realize that climate change is really not a stand-alone issue; it affects all aspects of Montana’s economy and social well-being, and it’s time for some serious discussion and planning."
